A Look Back At Homer Award Winner 2009 Masterpiece Renovation & Addition

Agape Construction Company has been a trusted name in the design, build and renovation space for over 35 years. Today we want to take a look back at one of our Homer Award winning renovation and addition projects completed in 2009 in Glendale, MO.

The Exterior

This masterpiece renovation and addition expanded a 2,694 square foot home with 10 rooms and 3 bathrooms into 5,229 sq. ft. estate with 14 rooms and 5 bathrooms!

The rear elevation improvements showcase the historic architectural features of this Glendale home and the swooping roofline.

three-car carriage house style garage

A wrap-around porch was added to the front and side of the house to provide more outdoor living space. Award-winning Architect Laurie Smith brilliantly added dormers and extended the chimney to give the roof a more dramatic look from the front and add additional square footage to the house.

This Glendale remodel also included an entirely new build – the fantastic and spacious three-car carriage house. No space was left wasted as the upstairs portion of the garage was transformed into a playroom for the family’s children to enjoy.

The pool went in the same time as the Agape exterior addition.

The Kitchen

kitchen update

This beautiful free-flowing floor plan features a customized kitchen with TWO islands (a kitchen dream) and bar seating. This kitchen makes it perfect for guests to interact with their dinner host while preparing meals and enjoying a pre-dinner beverage.

Adjacent to the kitchen is classic darker wood wet bar and less formal breakfast nook for family dining.

The Master Bathroom and Suite

master shower update

The master bathroom was updated to have a separate shower and bathtub features.

Our design and selections team topped off this addition with modern touches like the beautiful chandelier and minimalist dining furniture.

master bathroom update

The ultimate bathroom luxury of a television was added between the Jack and Jill sinks so that the homeowners could keep abreast of news while getting ready for their day. Or even better – so they can watch a show while unwinding in the bathtub.

master bedroom update

A vaulted ceiling and fan was added to the master suite to give the room a more spacious appearance.
