What is Design & Build?

Agape’s Design and Build Process is a method to deliver a project in which the design and the construction services are completed by one company. Agape has in house Architects, an Engineer, an Interior Designer and Cabinet Specialist. We provide the best value for your investment.

We provide customers with the convenience of working with one expert source.

This eliminates much of the stress that naturally accompanies any building project.

When you use our “one-stop” service, you can rest assured that you have a professional team in your corner, before, during and after your project.

Our Licensed Architects and our Professional Engineer, Kevin O’Brien, along with our experienced Project Consultants, take a very personalized approach to each client. Together they provide the perfect blend of architectural design and technical expertise.

Our process saves you time and money. By allowing the Project Consultant, Architect and Project Manager to work together, you are afforded their collective experience, which helps to keep your project on budget. This also speeds up the design, bidding and construction process.

Agape does not directly profit from Architectural Design Agreements. Because we do not profit, we also do not give the drawings to the homeowner until a CONSTRUCTION contract has been signed. For most people this is a great way to save money. The drawings are reviewed at frequent meetings with your Architect and Project Consultant. Be sure to talk about this when you have your first meeting.

The Design & Build Process

Contact Us

We will take some basic information from you regarding your needs, budget and ideas and then schedule a time for one of our Project Consultants to visit you at your home or we can arrange a virtual meeting if you prefer.

Initial Appointment

At this consultation, we listen to your ideas, find out what is important to you, as well as, discuss the Design/Build Process and how it is structured to ensure your project’s success. This typically includes a Ballpark estimate of the project discussed and the presentation of the Design Agreement.

Initial Designs Begin

After acceptance of the Design Agreement, a measure-up for as-builts of your home will be completed.

Design Development & Cost Estimate

Our Architect will prepare Freehand or CAD concept drawings and present them to you, soliciting your input. These drawings allow us to quickly make modifications, and welcome you into the creative design process.

Creating A Bid Set

We will review the drawings with you in more detail and ask about the level of finishes you hope to have (Cabinets, flooring, lighting, etc) as we prepare your Bid Set. .

Bidding & Walkthroughs

Your Project Consultant will review the Bid set with you and set a date to bring over our trusted Sub Contractors. Having all of these trades look at the project before it starts, rather than only looking at drawings, will help to eliminate additional costs after the project is signed.

Construction Contract

Once the Contract is signed Agape will finalize any structural engineering documents that will be submitted along with the plans for permits.

Interior Designs & Selections

Your Selections Coordinator will work with you to complete the material selections required for your project. We have many choices available in our Selections Showroom for you to choose from.

Start Date

Your project start date will be determined after the contract is signed, selections have been made, permits are in hand, and our schedule is ready to accommodate.

Construction Planning

With plans in hand and materials selected and ordered, we are ready to begin. Your Project Manager and Project Consultant will meet you on the job site to walk through the project and review the entire scope of work.

Construction Process

Your Project Manager will supply you with a Week by Week Construction Schedule for your project. Our goal is to have good communication with you throughout the building process.

Project Complete!

Time to enjoy your new space! Upon completion of the project, you will receive a detailed packet that includes warranties, maintenance tips, and all Lien Waivers. Agape’s Workmanship Warranty is 12 months of coverage for workmanship and 2 years for structural defects.
