Here are a few “out of the box” projects that we would like to share with you.
Hidden Elevator Shaft

Agape clients had recently purchased a beautiful, new construction city town home. After moving in they realized there was a hidden, unused elevator shaft behind the drywall! They felt that their new home didn’t have enough storage space for them and wanted to use the hidden square footage in that elevator shaft. Agape Construction took on the project!
The elevator shaft ran through 4 floors, including the basement. We opened the walls and created structurally sound spaces in that elevator shaft on each floor. We built a nice sized storage closet on the main level and third story. The primary bedroom and laundry room are located on the second floor. We expanded the laundry room into the elevator shaft, transforming it from a small closet laundry to a comfortably sized laundry room. The homeowners are wine enthusiasts, so we used that space in the basement to build a refrigerated wine cellar! Wow!

Historic Carriage House to Art Loft

This historic carriage house was originally built as a horse stable with the upstairs serving as a hayloft. The current homeowners wanted it to serve as a multi-functional space: an art loft, workshop and general hang out space. They had already converted the upstairs into a small guest room.
Agape got to work! We updated the space while being very mindful of keeping intact its historical elements. The exposed brickwork and wood were spectacular, so that was left in place. We added electricity, plumbing, a new bathroom, windows and gorgeous French doors. The homeowners can now enjoy this eclectic space with the perfect mix of modern amenities and historic charm.

New garage to match historic home

This historic home had a very small, 1 car detached garage. The garage was starting to show its age and was just too small to be able to fit anything but a very compact vehicle. The homeowner wanted a larger, detached garage, but also wanted the new garage to match the stucco and clay roof tiles of the home.
Agape was thrilled to take on this challenge! We tore down the 1 car garage and built a new, 2 car garage from the ground up. The original garage did have red clay roof tiles (same as the home). We carefully salvaged each tile to use on the new garage. However, with a larger garage, the tiles were not enough to cover the new roof. We added solar panels to the roof to take up some of the square footage and found more salvaged matching clay tiles! Another challenge was matching the exterior stucco to the original home. In the end, the new garage turned out beautifully. It complements the original home and gives the homeowner a spacious 2 car garage.

These are just a few examples. We are happy to take on your unique, challenging project and make your home perfect for you! Contact Agape Construction today to find out how we can help you with your unusual project.
