Maximize Your Stay-cation: Outdoor Space Transformations

Jun 26, 2020 | Outdoor Living Space

Like many out there, you may be growing stir crazy stuck at home during quarantine. With Summer 2020 kicking off with COVID closures, many families are left without vacations, summer camps and even access to public pools.

Many of our clients have been approaching us about an outdoor update. You name it, the Agape team can do it: Patios, decks, sunrooms, fire pits and much more that will turn your yard into your favorite place at home.

Patios and Decks

One of the most requested projects we get for transforming outdoor spaces are patios and deck builds/additions.

Below are examples of decks both covered and open air. A trend we’ve seen in the last 5 or so years is transforming your back deck into an outdoor living room, complete with a fan, TV and ample comfortable seating.

This small Kirkwood backyard transformed into the perfect place for after dinner drinks with family and friends.

Go big, it’s your home! This outdoor living room in Des Peres features a gas fireplace for the winter and a fan for the summer. To top it off, a mounted TV for the times you still just want to chill on the couch but need to get outside.

This semi-covered deck space is perfect for grilling outdoors in the warmer months. You could even host a socially-distanced dinner party if the comfy deck furniture was spread out.

Front Porch and Curb Appeal

We’re currently in a buyer’s market for homes. If you watch enough HGTV, you know that many times the buyer’s choice comes down to one thing (after location) – curb appeal!

Thinking of selling your home that is not quite “open house” ready? Or just wanting to give your home a facelift? Not to worry – our team can help you achieve the curb appeal you need to sell your home (or stay). See the before and after pictures below of some of our favorite transformations!

Back of the house facelift?

The additions to the front of this Webster Groves, MO home make it almost unrecognizable! By extending out the roof to allow for a covered porch, it not only makes the home look bigger, but the added wood beams better tie the white siding to the previously existing ramp.

Sunrooms

As summer is almost halfway over, you can start planning for the outdoor space of your dreams for 2021, but a sunroom is perfect for ANY time of year. As working from home becomes the new norm, you’ll need a well-lit space that gets natural light for all those dreary winter months stuck at home.

This Kirkwood home addition sunroom has many attractive on-trend elements. The exposed bricks, wooden beam ceiling and French folding doors make this the perfect entertaining space year-round.

Our design and selections team topped off this addition with modern touches like the beautiful chandelier and minimalist dining furniture.

We can make screened-in decks/porches or full-windowed sunrooms. This breezy Lake St. Louis oasis needed a sunroom addition so the family could enjoy the summer weather without worrying about sunburn and bug bites!

Last but not least, this breathtaking sunroom features the industry-rated Pella windows. You feel like you’re outside without ever leaving the comfort of your house with these large picture windows and sliding glass door installs.
